The girls got to spend half a day with their cousin and family at the Zig Zag Railway near Lithgow today.

Our nephew absolutely loves trains – a serious fan of Thomas the Tank Engine – so a chance to ride a real steam locomotive as it winds its way down into the valley was something not to be missed.

At the halfway point there’s a short break whilst the engine moves to the other end of the train to zag it’s way down the mountain. There’s a small overpass where you can watch as the steam engine drives underneath.
