Australia Square at Night…

by on Jul.28, 2011, under Life, Photography

I was walking back along George St from Circular Quay one evening (with camera and tripod in hand as it happens – it was actually the end of the day of the SMH 1440 rally) and as I passed the Australia Square building I saw it was open and decided I might as well try some classic shots here at night whilst there were hardly any people around.

Australia Square is the generic name for an icon within the Sydney CBD. Situated on the corner of George and Bond Streets, the familiar 50 storey round tower building has been the focal point for the precinct since it’s construction in 1967 when it earned its place in history as Sydney’s first true office tower.

This first image is my take of the signature Keyhole image.

This second is in the main lift lobby of the tower building – as luck would have it completely empty for my purposes.
