Cairns – FNQ – Day 5…

We spent the day out on the Great Barrier Reef with a small tour company (Seastar Cruises). We left early around 8AM with a small tour group of about 30 passengers.

The trip out was nice and smooth and took about an hour to get out to Michaelmas Cay where we all spent some time snorkelling and swimming in the clear, calm waters of the reef around this sandy coral cay. The weather was fantastic and the scenery perfect…

After lunch on board we headed over to Hastings Reef for another few hours snorkelling in the outer reef. The wind was picking up in the afternoon so the water was much choppier and the ride back to Cairns was a lot rougher and two of my daughters were looking decidedly green and one well… lost her lunch lets say…
