Festival of the Winds – Bondi…

The Festival of the Winds kite flying festival is an annual event at Sydney’s famous Bondi beach.
Some Google+ friends were having a meetup there during the day – I wasn’t able to make the start but I was able to arrive very late (basically only minutes before the end and after many had already left :().
Still I did get there and chatted with a few friends before they headed off home and I managed to get a few images of the amazing array of kites flying above the beach – it must have been spectacular when they were all out in full force. Here are a couple with the Sigma 15mm fisheye…

This thing was absolutely enormous – the sandbag holding the kite down was nearly as tall as me and must have weighed a ton (literally)
