Waiting on Knox…

From Knox Lookout you can see the intersection of Knox Gorge and Wittnoom Gorge, giving a true appreciation of the forces that created this awe-inspiring landscape.
The sun had just set to my right and I’d taken a number of shots looking to the right of the Lookout into the gorge as it extends away into the distance towards the colour in the sky.

As this was the first day in weeks that we’d actually had any appreciable cloud in the sky I figured it might be time to get a heavy ND out and try a post sunset long exposure whilst the colour was still present in the sky.
So it was out with the Lee LittleStopper and stacked with my 3 stop grad and the polariser we’ve got my last image of the day – a quick 200 second long exposure waiting at Knox gorge just before 6PM.
My daughter wasn’t all that pleased with the waiting however. For the first time on our trip we were being eaten alive by tiny bugs – she was not a happy camper. Once the shot was done we were outa there…
