Panorama’s at the Top of the World…

by on Jan.13, 2018, under Life, Photography

Well the top of Germany at least – and certainly on land as high as any of us had ever been before… It certainly felt like we were at the top of the world.

The view was staggering and these small scale stitched panoramas of the view from the top of the mountain don’t really do it justice.

The first is a view of the new cable car terminal with lake Eibsee down the bottom on the left (where the cable car starts) and the village of Garmisch-Partenkirchen down the bottom in the middle.

Note: These photographs (especially the wider shots) look much better when larger. To see larger versions in an inline overlay slideshow gallery viewer click any of the images.

This second panorama is further to the left with Eibsee in the middle and a view more north (towards Munich and the rest of Bavaria).

This view is westward into Austria and gives you a glimpse of those amazing mountain ranges.

Lastly here’s a view with a much longer focal length to get in really tight on those peaks. This 22 Frame stitched panorama shows a roughly 180 degree view from south to north.
