Sleeping Buddah @ Sunrise

by on Aug.20, 2019, under Life, Photography

Before leaving on this trip I’d done a fair bit of research on locations I wanted to photograph. Some land based with my traditional camera but I also researched locations I’d like to photograph via drone

This was one of those locations. Inspired by some shots I’d seen posted by Ben Broady. I contacted Ben and gained some very useful information from him. Further research via google maps and voila a likely departure point

Note: These photographs (especially the wider shots) look much better when larger. To see larger versions in an inline overlay slideshow gallery viewer click any of the images.

With sunrise about to rise on the right the skies have filled with colour and some nice clouds always helps

I mostly took stitched panorama’s this morning. Unfortunately you don’t get to see the final results till I’m back at the computer. The drone does however automate taking all of the required frames for you which makes things much easier

Whilst I was mostly pretty pleased with all of the results. Those crazy wiggly waterways which first drew me to this location (when viewed on Google Maps) were as good as I’d hoped. Having looked at the images back on the computer I wished I’d shot from closer to the rocky mount and from a lower angle

Perhaps I’d return the next morning for take 2 🙂
