Ship Wrecked and Lost…

by on Jun.07, 2017, under Life, Photography

One of the things I was particularly looking for when coming to this location was a wrecked ship I’d read about online. Unfortunately all the information online didn’t actually specify where the ship was. The only thing I could find appeared to indicate it was “in the shallows just metres from the beach car park” at Carpenter Rocks.

Note: These photographs (especially the wider shots) look much better when larger. To see larger versions in an inline overlay slideshow gallery viewer click any of the images.

These two Lee BigStopper long exposures are probably two of my favourite images from the morning. I just love the mood and feel of both images. The softness imparted by the extremely long (five (5) minute) exposures is exactly what I was hoping for.

I actually looked near Carpenter Rocks and the beach there (just a kilometer or so away from here) but couldn’t find anything. It was only when I flew the drone up the beach from the lighthouse that I found this :).

I believe this is the wreck of the Pisces Star – and perhaps that’s where the confusion comes in – there are apparently a number of wrecked ships along this coastline near Carpenter Rocks.

Fishbones and Colours…

by on Jun.05, 2017, under Life, Photography

I ended up returning to this spot where I’d first shot with the 12mm the previous evening. As luck would have it we were starting to get a blush of colour on the clouds. This murky pool with it’s crazy colourful seaweed draped everywhere would have to do.

Are We Sick of Vivid Yet…

by on Jun.03, 2017, under Life, Photography

Surely you are all sick of seeing Vivid Sydney photographs by now…

At least here is something new for this year. More than two years after the city’s iconic billboard went dim, the Kings Cross Coke sign is back in all its neon glory. This time however instead of just being in red and white – it’s all technicolour rainbow magic :).

Then it’s down to Martin Place where the MLC mushroom gets it annual Vivid treatment. This year it is UrbanTree 2.0.
