Vivid Sydney @ The Opera House…

by on Jun.03, 2013, under Life, Photography

Headed around through Circular Quay across to the Opera House to shoot some more of the light displays of Vivid Sydney

Note: These images (especially the wider shots) look much better when larger – so click any of the images below to see larger versions in an inline overlay slideshow gallery viewer.

A little fisheye fun with Ana Andres with this light globe inspired piece

Ana had brought along her glass ball so we tried some compositions up close to the Opera House itself (the ball is like an insane fisheye lens – plus it also inverts the image viewed through it – the trick is to:
– get the right distance from the ball and the ball to the subject so it appears filling most of the ball
– focus on the image projected within the ball
– whilst also trying to include some of the “real” scene outside the ball (it will naturally be in blur because you’re generally focusing near minimum focus distance of your lens)

Note in this last the large white ball is actually the full moon in the sky
