As I was staying at our friends farm it afforded me the opportunity to fly my new drone for a view towards a distant Mount Canobolas

I’d purchased my DJI Mavic 2 Pro specifically for a forthcoming trip around half of Australia (predominantly the Northern Territory and northern WA). I hadn’t really had any opportunities to fly it yet so it was good to get a little practice and familiarity in

With an elevation of 1,395 metres above sea level, Mount Canobolas, an extinct volcano, is the highest mountain in the region. Situated 13 kilometres southwest of the city of Orange, it is about 250 kilometres west of Sydney

The summit is the location of a number of TV and radio transmission towers as well as aircraft navigation facilities
