Lake to Ord

by on Aug.19, 2019, under Life, Photography

Already a few weeks into our trip I rose early to shoot my first sunrise session

Normally I’d be on location for a sunrise shoot up to 60 minutes before sunrise. However as I knew I was going to be doing a drone shoot I planned to arrive around sunrise itself. Otherwise it would likely be too dark (and contrasty) for the drone

So I have a series of 180˚ panoramic images for you today

Lake to Ord

DJI Mavic 2 Pro L1D-20c + 28.0 mm f/2.8 @ 10.26 mm, 1/240 sec at f/5, ISO 100 x 21 Frames

Note: These photographs (especially the wider shots) look much better when larger. To see larger versions in an inline overlay slideshow gallery viewer click any of the images.

The view of this massive lake under glorious early morning light is pretty magical

DJI Mavic 2 Pro L1D-20c + 28.0 mm f/2.8 @ 10.26 mm, 1/320 sec at f/5, ISO 100 x 21 Frames

Lake Argyle is Western Australia’s largest and Australia’s second largest freshwater man-made reservoir

At maximum flood level, Lake Argyle would hold 35,000 gigalitres of water and cover a surface area of 2,072 square kilometres
