Asymptotic Anomaly

NIKON Z 7 + NIKKOR Z 14-30mm f/4 S @ 14 mm, 417 sec at f/8, ISO 100

Compositional test at this new light painting location. Here I’ve included a little of the exterior surfaces of the tunnel opening. Partially because the paintings look cool but mostly to see how the external ambient light spills on the scene. The lighting of the interior walls of the tunnel here is partly spill from creating the orb and mostly from me lighting the walls with torch

I’ve been searching (online mainly) for suitable locations for long long exposure light painting in and around Sydney. Scouring Google Maps for abandoned urban locations, tunnels, underground areas, pedestrian underpasses, drains, aqueducts and so on

This location I found through more traditional (going for a walk :)) means

Note: These photographs (especially the wider shots) look much better when larger. To see larger versions in an inline overlay slideshow gallery viewer click any of the images.
